On October 9th, Rockland Connects was invited to present at Cornwall Public Library in Cornwall, NY. India Perez-Urbano, Rockland Connects' Executive Director, brought awareness to the opioid epidemic in Orange County, and nationally. The event spoke on the public health benefits of harm reduction, and the need for more conversations around the health complications that are often intertwined with opioid addiction - such as HIV, hepatitis C and bacterial infections.

The second half of the event included an Overdose Reversal Training in which the audience was trained to reversal an opioid overdose with naloxone and received a free naloxone kit. For any of those interested in hosting a free overdose training at their workplace or school, they can contact Rockland Connects at programs@rocklandconnects.org.
